TITLE: A DISSERTATION ON STYLE
ABSTRACT:
A discourse on the view of the Philippine independent clothing scene at it’s current state and how it becomes an invitation to ponder on the meaning of style as art exhibited in clothing. – Kix Suarez of The Artisan
METHODOLOGY:
Both an exhibit and a pop-up shop, a handful of Manila’s independent brands got together and set up their own showcases based on their takes on alternative apparel and style. From vintage style to bombshell beauty; from quirky eco-friendly to supah fly and downright classic, The Gallery, Zoo, Thank You Today (formerly I LOVE YOU), Stylebreak, The Gallery, Wip Caps, UNSCHLD, Blackbook and The Artisan provided an introduction to Manila’s capabilities, abilities and possibilities.
INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND:

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Starting with the obvious, you should’ve been there. But then again, we can always head back to the drawing board and start all over again. More brands, more music, more bean bags, perhaps? Oh and how could we forget, come thru to the shop to get the pieces from the A Dissertation on Style x UNSCHLD Capsule Collection (made exclusively for this project)!
See you at the next one,
Commune MNL/UNSCHLD
